~resistance & weight training~

πŸ’ͺ Resistance training is something I used to be afraid to do because I thought it would impact my running negatively or make me “bulky” πŸ™„ but boy I was WRONG. It’s actually improved my running and has made me stronger mentally and physically in so many ways. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ’ͺ Lifting weights and resistance training is SO important, and is now one of my favorite parts in training. In class, we recently discussed the importance lifting and progressive overload techniques to sustain bone mineral density. This impacts how strong our bones will be later down the road as well as decrease chances of ostopenia & osteoporosis. It also has an indirect correlation with the quality & length of our lives. And majorly decreases chances of an injury.

πŸ’ͺ I love the feeling of getting in the gym and feeling stronger each time I do. I feel more confident since lifting, in all aspects of my life. Remember to ALWAYS pair your training with enough nutrients to reap the benefits of all that you and your body accomplish! πŸ™‚
