
• It’s treadmill season! ❄️ I’ll run outside in some pretty rough conditions. But there comes a point when it’s just not safe. I’m thankful to have a treadmill in our garage. I had an 8-mile long run on Monday (I took this pic outside afterwards) and it was pouring rain, which meant treadmill time.
• Here are a few reminders that can help make the treadmill more enjoyable. That way you can still train for a race, keep your miles up, or simply go on a walk!
1) Your pace is going to slow down. It’s okay!! Treadmills can alter your stride length and it feels different than naturally running outside. Start at a comfortable pace, whether you’re running or walking, and adjust from there.
2) Put on a cozy Hallmark movie, listen to your favorite podcast, or make a playlist with the music you love (Christmas music if you’re feeling extra festive🎄). I just use my phone and earbuds.
3) Be thankful you can still move!! Instead of being sad you can’t do your run or walk outside, be thankful there’s a machine that allows you to!
