β€’ New PR for my half marathon!πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ©΅πŸ‚ I felt so good in this race, for a variety of reasons. The course was beautiful and the weather was perfect. But a lot of it was proper training, nutrition, and mindset.

β€’ I used to overtrain, not properly fuel, and barely rest. What does that = DISASTER. Our bodies can do hard things, but not if we don’t treat them right. I came into this race with the mindset of running at a pace that felt good.

β€’ A whole ago, I reevaluated. I sat down and created a training schedule that was balanced. Where I could have energy on long run days, be able to workout in the gym and feel strong, and pick up the pace. But in order to feel ready on those harder days, I had to ensure I was recovering properly.

β€’ This means including easy runs, cross training, and rest days. Making sure to fuel your body, especially on those hard days. Incorporating strength workouts to keep your bones strong. And tuning into your mental health and making sure you’re being kind to yourself and incorporating self-care into your routine.

β€’ This plan will be my new lifestyle. I emphasize BALANCE! It earned me a new PR, and allowed me to enjoy training. I encourage you to look at your plan and make sure it’s adding to your life in a positive way. Where you are moving your body, enjoying your training, & reaching your goals. 😊
