~training splits~

• It took me a while to figure out the training split my body responds best to. It’s so important to find that ~balance~ of runs, strength workouts, cross training, & rest. And the split won’t be the same for everyone.

• The way to know if it’s right is checking in to see how you feel physically, mentally, & emotionally. Ask yourself… Am I recovering well or am I always getting injured? Is my body functioning the way it should? (Am I getting my period? Am I iron deficient?) Is my mood stable? How do I feel?

• My split right now: Training for a Half Marathon in July 🏃🏼‍♀️

Monday – Power Vinyasa Yoga or Full Body Workout
Tuesday – Run (base miles: 3-4)
Wednesday – Lower Body Workout
Thursday – Run (base miles: 3-4)
Friday – Upper Body Workout
Saturday – off/walk
Sunday – Long Run (6+) Training for 1/2 marathon

• I throw in walks & calming yoga whenever! It’s all about trial and error and finding what feels good by truly listening to your body. 🫶🏼
